Organized Gaming for Young Players
Briar Guard Heroes was originally founded as an organized play campaign for 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons® that was focused on young players under the age of 21. The mission was to introduce young adventurers to the concept of heroism through teamwork, creative problem solving & tactical thinking. Briar Guards Heroes hosted regularly scheduled events from the beginning of 2018 through to the end of 2019. The admins for this campaign, Linda & Christof Deimer, along with a small handful of volunteer Dungeon Masters, coordinated and ran games for up to 50 kids and their parents at a time and in the end provided a fantastic experience for hundreds of participants.
In the beginning of 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic prevented in person gaming and the admins for Briar Guards Heroes focused on establishing New Mexico Gamers Society. While New Mexico Gamers Society welcomes players of all ages, online games are easier to facilitate for adults. As restrictions begin to lift and in person play becomes viable once more, NMGS will be seeking to revive Briar Guards Heroes once again. The organized play system is long past due for a major overhaul and as soon as it become feasible the admins will be working on making this happen.
In order for Briar Guard Heroes to truly live again, we will need dedicated volunteers to step up to take charge. In the past many have expressed interest in participating in events, however calls for volunteers had received minimal response. Briar Guards Heroes remains on hiatus for the time being, but if you wish to express interest in participating as a player please click on the Player link above and we will update you with any future Events that may occur. If you are interested in volunteering to assist with the administration of Briar Guard Heroes please click the Volunteer link above to submit your information. Of course, if you simply wish to run a game that is youth centered you can do so by registering to Host a game.
