New Mexico

New Mexico is a state in the Southwestern United States, achieving statehood in 1912. It is one of the Mountain States of the southern Rocky Mountains, sharing the Four Corners region of the western U.S. with Utah, Colorado, & Arizona. New Mexico features a variety of landscapes ranging from deeply forested mountains to vast arid deserts. Volcanic ash in the air causes breathtaking sunsets and sunrises leading it to be known as “the Land of Enchantment”. New Mexico is home to numerous Native American tribes & Pueblos including the Zuni, Navajo & Apache. New Mexico has a couple of major cities, several smaller cities & numerous towns or villages as well as more rural communities. With its mix of European, Native, & Mexican heritage, the state is a unique & colorful place.
